The Catholicos St. Sahag the Great and the Monk St. Mesrob Mashdotz Creators of the Armenian Alphabet and translators of the Holy Bible into Armenian (A.D. 406) The Holy Translators, led by Sts. Sahag and Mesrob, not only translated the Bible into Armenian. They also translated the Divine Liturgy and the writings of the Church Fathers. They did this to ensure that we received the fullness of the Orthodox Faith. Therefore in order to embrace this fullness, we must study not only the Holy Scriptures and Armenian writers but also the Liturgy and the teachings of the same Church Fathers endorsed by the Holy Translators and canonized in Church Tradition. |
